"Trauma is not what happened to you, but rather what happened inside of you as a result of what happened to you." — Gabor Mate
What is most important is to have self compassion and grace for yourself as you move through the pain.
My name is Wendy Griffith (Murphy) I am Licensed Associate Counselor (LACT) and I am experienced in trauma and hold Level 1 and Level 2 training in EMDR.
Before joining The Stories Counseling team, I worked with students aged preschool-8th grade as an Athletic Director and Teacher. While finishing my Master’s degree I worked mentoring at-risk high school students. I am also involved at my church where I coached a marriage class with my husband for over five years.
I grew up in Ahwatukee, Arizona, and love God above all else. I am married with two stepchildren (14-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy) and a baby boy (21-month-old). In my free time, I like to spend time with my family; travel, and play indoor soccer. One fun fact about me is that I have traveled much of the world having done ministry work in over 15 countries. Those experiences were formative and are one reason I am passionate about being an advocate for those who are suffering from different challenges in their life.
I have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am working under the supervision of Tony Ziolko MS, LPC, ORDM a board-approved Clinical Supervisor for Arizona.
Wendy will be seeing clients on Mondays, Thursdays and every-other-Saturday. You may contact me at her email address: wendy@storiescounseling.com or reach her by cell (call or text) at (480) 256-2427.
