“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.”
— Brené Brown

I’m currently completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus on Family Science. My original plan was to go straight into graduate school for counseling, but life had other ideas. Sixteen years, one amazing husband, four kids, and many careers later, I’m finally stepping into the profession I’ve always felt called to. It may not have been the timeline I expected, but I’m grateful to be entering this field with a little more humility, wisdom, and life experience.

My goal as a counselor is to meet clients exactly where they are, providing a soft and supportive space to share their stories and process their experiences. I believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion. As a counselor, my role is to walk alongside clients—not in front of them—as we explore their stories, uncover their strengths, and move toward their goals.

As a follower of Christ, I’ve experienced the deep healing that can come through faith, and if that is something meaningful in a client’s life, I’m more than happy to integrate faith into the counseling process.

In addition to being a graduate student, I’m also a homeschooling mom and often joke that I’m getting my counseling degree just to prepare for eventually having three teenage girls under one roof. When I’m not working, I love doing DIY projects, ballet, reading, and throwing away anything in my house that isn’t nailed down. I also recently discovered I am, in fact, a dog person thanks to my adorable poodle, Minnie.
